About the Hotel
Also known as the twin town of Haldwani, Kathgodam is situated on the banks of Gaula River in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand.
Kathgodam is located in the Bhabhar region, on the foothills of Kumaon Himalayas at an elevation of 554mts above sea level. Kathgodam serves as the nearest railway station to Nainital district and other parts of Kumaon region.
Kathgodam is one of the few railheads in Kumaon region which connect the area to rail network. Kathgodam Railway Station has proved to be a boon for the tourists coming to Nainital, Ramgarh, Mukteshwar, Ranikhet and Kausani.
Kathgodam forms a part of Haldwani – Kathgodam Municipal council which was established in 1942. This is now the second largest municipal council of the state, first one being Haridwar. The word Kathgodam literally suggests timber depot. Previously, Kathgodam was only a small village and it became popular when it was brought on the Railway Map of India by Britishers.
Kathgodam is an important centre for trade and commerce in Nainital district. A large number of tourists visit Kathgodam while heading towards the hills of Kumaon.
Few interesting places that you can see while a visit to Kathgodam are Sheetla Devi temple, Hedakhan Ashram, Kalichaud Temple and Corbett Falls. The weather of Kathgodam remains equivalent to the weather of Haldwani, but you can inhale the fresh breeze of the mountains in the morning at Kathgodam
